Philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche argued that culture, with its traditions and norms, might act as a beautiful yet distracting veil. From birth, we naturally seek connection and belonging. We proudly proclaim, "I'm part of this family!" or "I'm a proud graduate of X school!"
